Temporality addresses the sense of suspended time faced by people in forced migration. It is part of the broader Letter to mom project, which explores the stories of individuals forced to flee their homes due to political persecution or war. Analysing collected testimonies, the artist turns to a recurring object that reflects rejection of new places, abandonment of adaptation, and the constant waiting for a chance to return.

A suitcase becomes the central symbol: no longer associated with travel or discovery, it represents unpleasant temporality, a frozen life that stands in a corner waiting. This motif unfolds across different media — digital prints, video installation, postcards and art objects. The central element is the archive We did not plan to leave, consisting of 72 photographs of suitcases used by Belarusians and Ukrainians forced to flee war and political persecution.
